Overview

POINT.STRUCTURE is an independent book created by DESIGNFORFREEDOM. It is the first in a series. Each book will be called POINT, with a second name referring to the related topic. In this first book, we covered the concept of structure and how it relates to design. The concept was explored openly, in a way that related to the artist personally. There are three sections contained in the book, each covering a different area. The first section contains designs by the DFF team. The second contains submissions from various artists around the world. Eleven outside artists submitted work for POINT, which gave us a good range of content and provided varying styles as well as different approaches to the subject matter. The third section displays a recent project completed by DFF, with images and brief overviews.

This book was in concept for over a year before a way to produce it was discovered. The production took about two months, including layout and design. This process was a great learning experience for a few guys who had very little experience in print production. All books were made by hand, and a total of 60 were produced. We look forward to the next POINT book, and hope to expand our production due to the requests we received on this first one. |
